Oluwole A. ALAGBE is a scholar, researcher, and currently the Dean, College of Environmental Sciences and Management, Caleb University, Imota, Lagos State, Nigeria (2021 to date). He holds a Bachelor of Science (second-class upper division, and Master of Science degrees in Architecture from
the Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria in 1998 and 2000 respectively. He had a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree in Architecture from Covenant University, Ota (2009). He was elevated to the rank of a Professor of Architecture in 2021 in Caleb University, Imota, Lagos State. He became a full member of the Nigerian Institute of Architects (NIA) in 2009, registered architect with the Architects Registration Council of Nigeria (ARCON) in 2010, and elevated to the rank of Fellow, Nigerian Institute of Architects in 2023.
Prof. Alagbe started his teaching career in Covenant University as an Assistant Lecturer in 2003. He rose through the ranks to become a Senior Lecturer in 2015. He has served in various administrative capacities including Acting Head, Department of Architecture, at Covenant University from 2016-2018, and membership of several academic committees. His core area of research specialization is housing and indigenous building materials study, pedagogic and didactic innovations in architectural education, and History and Theory of Architecture.
He has about 60 articles published in peer-reviewed reputable journals and conferences nationally and internationally. As part of academic mentorship service, he has successfully supervised numerous students at the postgraduate (Master’s and Doctor of Philosophy) levels. His academic community service includes review of scholarly articles for several journals, chairing several technical sessions in conferences and serving as guest speaker in discipline-related discourse. He has attended several conferences nationally and internationally. Prof. Alagbe’s career goal is to continuously engage in collaborative academic research, dissemination of knowledge through peer-reviewed academic publications, and public advocacy with a bid to improve access to quality housing and the quality of architectural education in Nigeria.
