Dr. Akpoka is a multidisciplinary academic and professional with a diverse background in microbiology, immunology, immunochemistry, nursing science, public health, information technology, education, and management. His experience spans higher education, information technology, data analytics, informatics, strategy, project management, and management consulting, making him a valuable asset to organizations across various sectors.
Dr. Akpoka is passionate about education, science, research, leadership, and personal development. He has published over 40 academic articles in peer-reviewed journals and supervised students at all undergraduate and postgraduate levels. In addition to teaching and research at Igbinedion University and the Igbinedion University Teaching Hospital College of Nursing, he has also served as an external examiner and facilitator for the National Open University of Nigeria.
Dr. Akpoka is an active member of several professional societies worldwide, including the American Society of Clinical Oncologists (ASCO), the European Society for Medical Oncology (ESMO), the European Academy of Allergy and Clinical Immunology (EAACI), the Society for Immunotherapy of Cancer (SITC), the United Kingdom Oncology Nurses Society (UKONS), the International Nursing Group for Immunodeficiencies (INGID), the European Transcultural Nursing Association (ETNA), the American Society for Microbiology (ASM), the Microbiology Society UK, the European Society of Clinical Microbiology and Infectious Diseases (ESCMID), the Nigerian Society for Immunology (NSI), the Nigeria Immunology and Infection Network (NIIN), Nigerian Society for Microbiology (NSM) and the National Association of Nigeria Nurses and Midwives (NANNM). Through these memberships, he collaborates globally to drive progress in immunology, immunochemistry, panomics/immunomics, oncology, microbiology, public health, and nursing science.
As a management and strategy consultant, Dr. Akpoka excels at helping organizations solve problems, create value, maximize growth, and improve business and service performance. He is skilled at identifying and leveraging leads, prospects, opportunities, and trends, and designing, securing, delivering, and managing a broad range of projects, programs, portfolios, and campaigns across sectors.
Dr. Akpoka is a highly motivated and results-oriented lifelong learner who actively seeks new challenges and exciting opportunities across Africa and beyond.
