Sunday Ogbonna (PhD) is the Acting Head of Department of Mass Communication. He has Ph.D Degress in Journalism and Media Studies (Mass Communication), Caleb University, Lagos; and in Political Science/Public Administration, Igbinedion University, Okada, Edo State, Nigeria. His areas of research include media effect studies, political communication, health communication and public relations. He has published in leading journals in and outside Nigeria, including in Palgrave Macmillan, International Journal of Communication, University of Nigeria, African Journal of Policy and Diplomacy of the Centre for the African-American Research Studies, School of Government and Public Administration, University of Forte Hare, Eastern Cape, South Africa, Journal of Media Practice and Research, University of Port Harcourt and  Journal of Social and Management Sciences, Caleb University.
