Dr. Chinyere .C. Ezeanya-Bakpa is the Head of Department, Biological Sciences and Biotechnology, Caleb University, Lagos State, Nigeria. She is a member of distinguished professional bodies like: Organization for Women in Science for the Developing World (OWSD), American Society for Microbiology (ASM), International Society for Infectious Diseases (ISID) and several other professional associations in Nigeria and overseas. She is a Ph.D. graduate of Medical Microbiology from Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, Nigeria.

She has several research publications in both international and national peer-reviewed journals. She has single-authored a five chaptered book and co-authored book chapters published by renowned international publishers like Elsevier Ltd. She has authored research papers presented at both international and national scientific conferences. She has also participated in several sponsored professional advanced courses organized in the United Kingdom and South Africa. She is a holder of few awards such as the prestigious Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation award for Scientists. She has served as a reviewer for both international and national Scopus indexed journals. She is currently serving as an editorial board member of an international PubMed-indexed journal. Her areas of interest in research are: Antimicrobial Resistance, Molecular epidemiology, Microbiome, Public Health Microbiology, Antimicrobial activity of natural products. She is a passionate medical microbiologist that synergises academics, learning and sustainable development. Her viewpoint to learning is developing critical thinking, problem solving skills and the need to make significant contribution in Medical Microbiology within an intellectual context.
