Oluwaseyi Adetutu Tolulope

Adetutu Oluwaseyi is a seasoned trade and investment lawyer, certified arbitrator, and leadership expert with over 19 years of combined experience in public administration and governance, human resources management, academics, and legal practice. She holds the distinguished positions of Faculty Member at Caleb University College of Law and director of the Centre for Gender Issues.
Before her tenure at Caleb Law, Adetutu served as Chief Legal Officer at the Ministry of Justice, representing and advising the government on commercial arrangements and policy implementation. Prior to that, she was Director of Legal Services at the Pension Commission, demonstrating her proficiency in navigating complex legal frameworks and regulations.
Adetutu’s extensive career includes senior roles such as Senior Legal Assistant in the Office of the Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice in Ekiti State. She has contributed significantly to public service, having overseen personnel and government procurement as Principal Executive Officer at the Deputy Governor's Office and served in a senior capacity at the Ministry of Health and Human Services.
Adetutu is a barrister and solicitor of the Supreme Court of Nigeria. She is a Research Fellow at the China-Africa Legal Research Centre at Beijing Foreign Studies University. She is a member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, International Bar Association, New York Bar Association, Society of International Economic Law and African International Economic Law Network. She co-founded LegalEpp, a legal start-up that pioneers tech-driven solutions for businesses and individuals.
With a focus on African economic development, Adetutu advises governments, private sector clients, and international organisations on matters ranging from international trade agreements to regional integration strategies. She currently serves as the Secretary to the NBA Working Group on the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA). She sits on the board of Inclusive Trade for Africa's Development (itradeafrica), a non-profit dedicated to enhancing SME competitiveness under the AfCFTA.
Adetutu is concluding her doctoral studies at the University of Cape Town. She holds an LL.M. degree specialising in international trade and investment law from the University of Pretoria and a Master's degree from Obafemi Awolowo University.
